TECHNOLOGY / HUMAN JUDGMENT STILL MATTERS

AI sounds confident. Should you be?

Treat an AI answer as something to investigate, not a shortcut around evidence.

THE IDEA TO TAKE WITH YOU

Fluent language does not prove that financial information is accurate, current, or complete.

Ask where the answer came from.

AI-generated information can be incorrect, outdated, incomplete, or entirely fabricated. Before relying on a financial claim, inspect the underlying sources and check them against other reliable information. [1]

A new technology does not remove risk.

Claims that an AI system guarantees strong investment returns or cannot lose money are warning signs. A convincing presentation is not evidence of a legitimate investment.

Keep judgment in the loop.

Use questions to slow the process down: What source supports this? How recent is it? What has been left out? Do not rely solely on an AI answer to make an investment decision.
